Sex after 50
1. I am 55 and my wife is 53. She feels that sex after 50 is not proper maybe because of some misguided spiritual counseling at her pravachans. I am not the kind of person who would look for sex outside marriage for any reason but this irks me no end. I might not have much stamina either but as I work for a IT company, I do need some release at times for sheer stress busting. Any way can I deal with this without hurting her?

'Should I go out with my ex?'
1. Few years back, I met a very sweet girl with whom I fell in love. At that time she was studying in a University. Circumstances forced me to marry somebody else. Now, I feel that I'm happily married, as my wife understands me and I also do the same. A few months back my former girl friend called me up at my work place and told me that she was now married and not happy. She also said that the reason for calling me was she still loves me. She also said that since we were now in the same position we should start going out. At the moment she is living in another city and is planning to come and visit her parents here. Though I still love my ex, but I am afraid to go out with her since she is now married. But she is insisting and everyday she calls me at least twice. What should I do so that she is not hurt the second time. I am stuck now. I feel trapped as I am afraid this would go too far.

Reply From Dr. Prem Lata Chawla: The situation with you consenting to go with her surely will go out of hand and destroy the two of you. Don't feel trapped and get out of this mess of quadrilateral relationship, as it will only bring misery to all four persons involved. Say 'no' to her firmly and stop attending her calls or SMSs'.

'Can't think of her sleeping with another man'
2. I was in love with a girl and we wanted to get married. Somehow our plans did not materialise and now she is marrying someone else. Although we did not have any physical relationship, I had sexually desired her and now I cannot think of her sleeping with another man. I feel very depressed having such cheap feelings but somehow can't get over it. The saddest thing is she is a very close family friend and we all live in the same locality and get to see each other daily. I am not in a position to leave the place either. What is the best way to handle this issue?

Reply From Dr. Prem Lata Chawla: You do not have to run away from your locality to ease the pain of loss because whereever you go you would take your heart with you. By and by you will reconcile to the separation and the pain would become bearable. After some years it would be a pleasant memory of the good times spent together. This is life and it goes on - you loose sometimes and you win another times. You can question how and why of it but there might not be answers all the time.
