She has been a former beauty queen and knows the tricks of the glamour industry. But, Tanushree Dutta failed to win the hearts of audience as an actress. Then, the much-publicised glam makeover came and now the lady is all geared up to rule the heart of millions with her new found figure. Now that you have got a smashing figure, do you give some of the credit to Bipasha Basu who advised you to change your stylist? Why should I give credit to anybody? I realised that I was putting on weight and that was affecting my looks. So, I became particular with my food habits and fitness regime to get the lean look. But isn’t it true that you became conscious about your looks only after Bipasha advised you to do so? I don't agree with that. It was mere a coincident that her comment and my decision to lose weight came at the same time. She didn’t inspire me to lose weight or change my look. | | Tanushree Dutta: I love to see myself on big screen more than my fans do. | I put on weight deliberately because of the specific requirement of a role. When my role got over, I had to get into right shape. At the same time I came to know that Bipasha has said something about my looks.
I am the person who loves myself. I want to see myself at the big screen more than my fans want. That’s the reason why sometimes I take films that don’t have wonderful scripts. I don’t want to go into oblivion by doing one film in a year. Did you really feel bad about her comment? How do you take criticism? I take criticism in a very positive manner. I never feel bad or frustrated if I realise that somebody from the film industry has made some critical remarks on me. I never felt bad about Bipasha’s comment any way. Even when my fans reject my films, I respect their verdict and try to improve. Is glamour and sexy look a basic need of the film industry? It’s a hard fact that in spite of your quest for realistic roles, glamour has its own importance in Bollywood. I don’t want to have an image of a sultry actress but at the same time I can’t stay away from glamorous roles. If I have to survive in the industry, I have to do such roles. After your break up with Aditay Dutta, you seem to have maintained a single status? There was nothing between me and Aditya in the first place. We are of the same age-group and so good friends. People have labelled our relationship as an affair, but it’s completely false. I am single and considering my professional commitment, I want to continue with the same status.
